How Getting Lost Reminded the CarbonPatchKids What They Were Looking For
Today’s adventure centers around four curious CabonPatchKids named Brock Lee, Jaime Parsley, Keanu Leaves and Blossom.
The foursome decided to go on an adventure in The Industrial Forest.
Three of the four CarbonPatchKids had all gone on many adventures together in The Industrial Forest, but today Blossom joined for the first time.
She was very excited to spend the day with the the other CarbonPatchKids and share an adventure.
They loaded up their personal plantpacks with a few GrowNola Bars and adventure supplies and set off.
It began in the CarbonPatch, with the four friends walking along the main path and admiring the variety of big bird bathes full of water, the nearby Guardian Gnomes were talking with Randee Moss about last night game and over yonder are some butterflies saying hello to Blossom’s family.
Eventually, they got to the CarbonPatch Gate, ventured off the main path and into The Industrial Forest.
As they explored further into The Industrial Forest, they were enthralled by the expanding beauty of the bushes, trees and wildlife.
The CarbonPatchKids were so wrapped up in the natural beauty surrounding them that they didn’t realize they were getting deeper and deeper into The Industrial Forest.
“Woah, look at all these colors and shapes, we definitely have to remember this place,” Keanu Leaves said. “It’s so-greats, I know, let’s photosynthesize with them!”
“I like all the new creatures and bugs I’ve never seen before,” Jaime Parsley said. “I wonder if Stephen ColBear burrows around here.”
“Check it out fellow CarbonPatchers,” Brock Lee said. “It’s BeeYonce and Pig-E-Smallz no doubt looking for Magical Honey Truffles.”
“Where are we?” Blossom asked as she looked around with confusion.
They all stopped and found themselves in a place they didn’t recognize.
Blossom started to panic and worried they wouldn’t be able to find their way out of The Industrial Forest.
“What are we going to do?” Blossom asked with a shaky and staccato tone.
Brock Lee, having the most experience in The Industrial Forest, was the first to take charge.
Brock Lee channeled his inner calm voice and asked the other CarbonPatchKids to take a few deep breaths, close their eyes and to remember why they had gone on the adventure in the first place.
“Remember CarbonPatchKids, we are here to have fun and explore,” Brock Lee said.
Brock Lee suggested that they all take a few moments to clear their minds and focus on the present.
“The explore part of the adventure complete, let’s focus on having some fun now while we start a new adventure,” Brock Lee said.
They all opened their eyes and kept calm as they looked all around them.
“I don’t recognize anything except some mist-excellent-foliage,” Keanu Leaves said. “Maybe Joan of Barc is around here somewhere. She and I worked together on a school project.”
“Let’s go ask Snake Gyllenhaal for directions, he’s right over there,” Jaime Parsley said. “Oh wait, that’s a water hose.”
“I wonder if Snake Gyllenhaal knows Justin Timberwolf?” Blossom joked.
All the other CarbonPatchKids laughed at the joke, as the positive energy pushed out the fear and confusion.
“All right fellow CarbonPatchKids, now that we’ve reset and reseeded our minds, let’s move our bodies backwards and retrace our steps,” Brock Lee suggested with a tone of confidence.
The other CarbonPatchKids followed Brock Lee’s lead backwards and soon found themselves calm, collected and moving forward.
Brock Lee then suggested that they take turns trying to remember any observations along the path they had noticed.
He asked each of them to recall specific details along the path like if they remember seeing the lights from Stump Towers or did they pass a natural landmark like the totally Treemendous Terry, The Industrial Forests’ most Treemendous Tree.
“I remember that big bird house over there,” Blossom said.
“Oh look, it’s an essential exchange station for the Critical Pipeline system,” Jaime Parsley said. “Anyone thirsty? The Industrial Forest essential exchange stations have water fountains built in.”
“It appears to be an ocean today because the fountain is plugged up again and it’s making some big gnarly waves,” Blossom said.
“Woah, surf’s up, Carbs” Keanu Leaves said. “It's not just a water sport. I knew it!”
“Keanu Leaves, Blossom you are right!” Brock Lee said. “It’s Justin Beaver’s gosh-darn-pile-of-logs plugging the fountain, and you know what CarbonPatchKids, Justin Beaver knows how to get back to the CarbonPatch.”
Once the four CarbonPatchKids had gotten directions from Justin Beaver, they were able to determine where they were and how to return home.
Blossom pointed out that they had all become LemonPatchHeads when they took a wrong turn back at CountryTime’s Copse.
“Earlier when we stopped for a beverage break we must have all gotten lost in our fun!” Blossom said.
“Excellent observation Blossom,” Brock Lee said. “Let’s all follow Blossom’s lead with locating signs, symbols and markers in this adventure.”
Jaime Parsley suggested that they use as many natural indicators as they can, such as that shaded area where Pete Moss is always hanging out with Morgan Treeman.
This is a plant life lesson to the CarbonPatchKids that often times natural markers can be reminders of where they have been and where they are going.
The four CarbonPatchKinds gathered rocks and strategically placed them in a Circle C next to the path.
“Making a plant-powered Circle C can also be as a sign to help other CarbonPatchKids on an adventure get back to the CarbonPatch,” Brock Lee said.
Suddenly a the entire energy surrounding the CarbonPatchKids got very RAPid and wet like the deep blue sea.
“It’s LL Drool J!” the CarbonPatchKids screamed and pointed.
LL Drool J is one of The Industrial Forest canine workers in charge of checking for critical pipeline leaks, but today LL Drool J was trotting by like he was just loungin’ it.
“Strange things are a plant at the Circle C,” Keanu Leaves said.
“Indeed,” said Brock Lee.
The four friends worked together to find their way back out of the woods. It took them all day, but eventually they made it back to the CarbonPatch safely.
They were so relieved and grateful for their teamwork, mindfulness, and calming techniques when lost, confused and out of place.
The four CarbonPatchKids learned a valuable lesson today, that even when things seem scary and unknown, it is important to remain calm, mindful and retrace your mental steps. Physical ones too.
