Diamond Dallas Sage Helps Jake Get Out Of The Snake Pit
Today’s story is about a very popular snake named Jake who lived in The Industrial Forest. Jake the Snake would often visit the Carbon Patch Kids who always welcomed him with open leaves.
Jake the Snake was a clever and brave snake who loved to explore and try new things. Many of the Carbon Patch Kids would invite Jake the Snake over to play games and sing songs.
It seemed everyone liked Jake the Snake but Jake himself.
Jake the Snake was very insecure and doubted himself almost constantly.
He often asked himself questions like, "Am I good enough?," or "Do I really know how to do this?"
None of the other Carbon Patch Kids knew Jake the Snake felt this way because he knew how to hide his feelings very well.
Jake the Snake was always helping the Carbon Patch Kids too. Sometimes Jake the Snake would keep pests out of the Carbon Patch and take a nap in Tomato Row.
Despite Jake the Snake’s popularity and acceptance by the Carbon Patch Kids, he still felt insecure about many parts of his life. Or the parts of his life missing.
“Why don’t I have any legs or arms?” Jake the Snake would often wonder to himself.
Jake the Snake was so used to feeling insecure about himself that he began questioning who he was and comparing himself to others.
“Why am I a snake and not a newt?” Jake the Snake would wonder. “If I was more like Newt Rockney, I’d be coaching champions instead of slithering around with all these other snakes.”
Jake the Snake became so trapped in his own negative thoughts that he became isolated. He was avoiding any kind of social interaction, even with his friends and family.
So Jake the Snake decided to dig a pit. A snake pit. Somewhere he could hide from the rest of the world.
When he was finished digging his snake pit, he started to slide down.
Jake the Snake vanished from the Carbon Patch and everyone above. In fact, he burrowed until it became clear he was at the very rock bottom of The Carbon Patch.
Jake the Snake knew he had hit the rock bottom because the only thing he saw was Joe Hermit & the Crab Shaq. And those two are never around anyone. Especially Joe Hermit, he gets extra crabby when others are around.
The Crab Shaq is a little social but his steel skillz can tear it up, so he can not get too close to others.
Joe Hermit & the Crab Shaq started sidling away from Jake the Snake who looked like he wanted to be alone too.
“I feel trapped and can not figure out what to do!” Jake the Snake said out loud thinking they were far enough away and wouldn’t hear him.
“Go talk to Diamond Dallas Sage,” the Crab Shaq shouted back while sidling away. “My buddy Kale Malone said Diamond Dallas Sage did amazing work on helping a number of lost Carbon Patch Kids find their way.”
Jake decided that he wanted to make a change in his life in that moment and become more confident.
“Thank you Joe Hermit & the Crab Shaq, I will go ask Diamond Dallas Sage for some help.” Jake the Snake said. “Please make sure to tell Kale Malone the Stork Stockton was looking for him the other day for a little pick and rock and roll. He wanted to deliver some jazz music to the Carbon Patch.”
Jake the Snake was grateful for the help, and decided to seek out Diamond Dallas Sage.
Everyone knew Diamond Dallas Sage in the Carbon Patch. He was very energetic and active. He was known as the one of the kindest Carbon Patch Kids with his time.
It seemed like Diamond Dallas Sage would help anyone in need.
Especially when it came to using yoga. As far as Diamond Dallas Sage was concerned, there was little yoga couldn’t cure.
Some of the Carbon Patch Kids have even said if you meditate and focus enough, a shiny glowing diamond appears in the center of Diamond Dallas Sage’s stem like a third eye.
When Jake the Snake started yoga with Diamond Dallas Sage, Jake the Snake explained how his fears, doubts and low self-esteem controlled many others parts of his mind, body and soul.
Diamond Dallas Sage smiled and said, "Listen brother, you are a brave snake to come and ask for help. I can help you and I will, but it will take some work. To become more confident and less doubtful, we must first work on your root chakra."
“What’s that?” Jake the Snake asked.
“It’s your foundation inside of you that will allow positive growth and nourishment for your soul brother,” Diamond Dallas Sage said.
Diamond Dallas Sage then began teaching Jake the Snake about the principals of meditation, yoga stretching and how the root chakra was connected to one's sense of security and stability.
Jake the Snake was a quick learner and soon began to understand the importance of his Diamond Dallas Sage’s companionship.
Diamond Dallas Sage then asked Jake the Snake to try a simple meditation exercise.
He asked Jake the Snake to find a comfortable spot and close his eyes. He asked Jake the Snake to focus on his breathing and begin to visualize what his root chakra looks like.
“This is your journey brother,” Diamond Dallas Sage said. “I am just here as a guide or map. Only you know the exact GPS on this adventure brother.”
Diamond Dallas Sage continued guiding Jake the Snake’s mental steps through uncomfortable places in Jake the Snake’s emotional world and past. But his trust in Diamond Dallas Sage was more than enough to power Jake the Snake through the land of unknown.
Jake the Snake became able to focus on grounding himself and filling his body with a new energy and sense of security.
The next day, Jake the Snake was feeling more confident and secure than ever before.
He felt like a whole new snake!
Jake the Snake stopped by Diamond Dallas Sage’s yoga studio and thanked him for his help.
Diamond Dallas Sage smiled and said, "You got it brother, want to come in for a bit and have a glass of iced compost sweet tea?"
“Absolutely DD Sage,” Jake the Snake said. “It’s a hot one today brother.”
The two sipped some iced compost sweet tea and talked about how yoga and meditation can help almost anyone.
“Brother, I even worked with the toughest snake Damian once,” Diamond Dallas Sage said. “Damian started out very stiff like a short-arm-clothes-vine, but after a knee lift or two, he had it in the bag.”
“DD Sage, this is some mighty fine sweet compost tea,” Jake the Snake said. “Brother, I’m gunna call this DDTea.”
“That's not a bad thing, that's a good thing,” Diamond Dallas Sage replied as he knocked back the sweet and smooth DDTea.
Jake the Snake continued his journey of becoming more confident and sure of himself everyday with the adding of an adventure from Diamond Dallas Sage Yoga.
Jake the Snake meditated and focused on his root chakra every day, understanding that self-confidence and security come from inner growth.
