As Ivy Towers Grows Up, Her Roots Stay Grounded
Today’s story is about a young CarbonPatchKid named Ivy Towers.
She was a spunky CarbonPatchKid with a bright personality, sensational sense of humor and a kind heart.
Ivy Towers enjoyed spending time with her companions. They would play games, share stories and go on adventures.
One week, Ivy Towers found herself experiencing new, unusual feelings. It’s like her body wasn’t the same.
“I think I can see over that original rock over there some of the older CarbonPatchKids call Mount Muraco,” Ivy Towers said somewhat puzzled. “I can also see Homer J Sunflower and Mean Joe Green Bean playing catch.”
A few weeks went by and Ivy Towers was more than certain she could see the world from a new view.
But do others see the world from her new view?
Just then, she noticed her pollinator companion BeeYonce buzzing by.
Ivy Towers asked, “Do you notice anything different about me?”
“Halo Honey, I do,” BeeYonce said. “Hold up Diva, I’ll buzz up and down your world and see what the countdown brings. It’s as easy as 1+1.”
BeeYonce began her measuring of Ivy Towers. She buzzed up, down and all around.
After BeeYonce’s energy and countdown was complete, she determined Ivy Towers had grown 8 inches!
“No wonder I am experiencing life in a whole new way,” Ivy Towers said.
BeeYonce said goodbye and continued to buzz on her way to tell a few CarbonPatchKids not to chase waterfalls with Destiny’s Chard.
Ivy Towers was grateful for BeeYonce’s help, but still felt a bit off inside emotionally.
Yes, Ivy Towers figured out physically why she was feeling different, but she was still confused and even a bit embarrassed by the sudden change in her body.
Ivy Towers wasn't used to being taller than everyone else, and she was becoming increasingly clumsy as she adjusted to her new size.
“Hey Ivy Towers how’s the weather up there!” Tina Turnip joked as she came upon Ivy Towers.
“Ha ha,” Ivy Towers forced out a laugh and tried to disguise it as real.
“Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t mean any harm,” Tina Turnip said. “You’ve really grown recently and are probably still figuring out your new world.”
“Oh no you can tell?” Ivy Towers asked with a little bit of sadness in her voice.
“I can tell you are still in a state of shock,” Tina Turnip said. “Ivy Towers, trust me when I say that when the plant-ache is over, it’s simply the best.”
“What should I do?” Ivy Towers asked
“From my experience it’s best to have some deeply centered roots to ensure a strong mind, body and soul can exist,” Tina Turnip said. “But I’m technically an underground dweller so it’s roots deep, mountain high for this turnip.”
Ivy Towers took some time to meditate about what Tina Turnip said about developing a strong root system.
She spent the next week focusing on growing her roots and not once did she trip or think about her physical growth above the surface.
Even though Ivy Towers and Tina Turnip are different CarbonPatchKids, they both understand the need for growth under the surface of the ground and themselves.
Ivy Towers companions were there to help her through her complex time. They encouraged Ivy Towers to be herself, despite her new height and unfamiliar grow.
They even offered to help Ivy Towers practice being gnarly and find balance with her growth above ground and below.
“Let’s go twist and shout with those Beetles over there and show them how gnarly you can be Ivy Towers,” Tina Turnip said. “Twist it, twist it good!”
“Tina Turnip are you trying sing like the Devo Beetles?” Ivy Towers joked.
Both Tina Turnip and Ivy Towers had a good laugh.
With support from some close companions and herself, Ivy Towers slowly grew more comfortable and even met some new companions along the way.
Ivy Towers stopped feeling embarrassed and instead embraced the trilogy of mind, body and spiritual growth.
From roots to leaves, Ivy Towers began to appreciate her newfound perspective in life, allowing her to reach new heights in her adventures.
As Ivy Towers adjusted to her new size, her companions grew and strengthened.
She found herself increasingly relying on her companions for support and comfort.
As her companions helped her to adjust to her new size, Ivy Towers realized how lucky she was to have such amazing companions in the CarbonPatch.
Today’s CarbonPatchKids story about Ivy Towers is a reminder that growing up isn't always easy, but with the help of good companions, like BeeYonce and Tina Turnip, it can be a very rewarding experience.
Not only did Ivy Towers physically grow 8 inches in one month, but her inter-branching-bond with her companions did too!
